I think the Angels, Red Sox, Tigers, Indians and possibly the Mariners will have better records.

At this point I'd say no unless they land some decent pitching.

I hope they do as a Yankee fan, but I don't think so. Their pitching is still suspect, and with a new manager, are they going to fix what's broken, or destroy everything that does work, too? It doesn't look like much is improved yet.

Until I see Girardi's style in action over the first 50-75 games of 2008, I'm saying the Red Sox win the AL East, the Angels the AL West, the Tigers the AL Central, and the Mariners the Wild Card.

It's definitely a possibility for the New York Yankees to not make the playoffs next year, but they could also go 110-52 any time. Baseball seasons are totally unpredictable. You can't just make a guess and it will happen, because the Yankees could get Santana, Jaba could throw 17 wins, and A-Rod could break Barry's single season homerun record this year. It's all unpredictable.

I'm going to say they don't make the playoffs this year, because of all the American League Contenders. The Sox will get the East, Angels West, and Tigers Central. The Indians will grab the Wild Card. It's going to be kind of weird to have the Yankees out of the playoffs, because usually when they make the playoffs the media goes absolutely crazy.

They will be in contention with Boston for the division just like every year. The Indians and Mariners will probably not have better records than the Yankees. Even the Angels might not. We have to see how the season ends up.

They will make it to the playoffs and lose in the first round again. The Yankees need pitching and so far we have the same as last year. Plus with A Rod in the line-up, in post season, it's a 2 out inning because he is an automatic out.

As long as the kids perform up to expectations they will be in the playoffs. I'm hoping they dont give up more than one of the kids to get an established pitcher, cause the three of them all have 20 win potential within a year or two, and as long as the offense keeps up we will be World Series contenders within a year or two, another one and done for them this year, and the second straight year of Boston winning the division.

Your joking right?

They have basicly the same excact roster that won 93 games last year!

And, now that Joba has a year under his belt, he could be a SP that wins 10 games or so, and maybe relieve 3 innings. (A HUGE plus to the Yankees)

Isn't it a bit too early for predictions when the trades & signings haven't even finished yet? That said Yanks will be just fine & make it again to the playoffs.

As well as the other teams it all depends on the pitching. If the Yanks plans to go with young pitchers fails it will be a long season for them.

I think that if the Rays get some pitching, they have a better team than NY in many ways.
