1.) If you were a p.o.w being tortured by the enemy how many of you would eventually 'give in' make up some info or tell them what they wanted to hear?

2.) Would you agree that all the false positives you get from people wanting the torture to stop, are just that many more things you've got to sort through to figure out if they're real or not? Sounds like a diversion from the true task at hand.

3.) Or is it, torture is mainly used to NOT get the intel information but to let out the aggression and revenge against the enemy?

Please share your thoughts and opinions regarding the above.

I approve of torture. If it is necessary to protect the people of the US, anything goes.
your #1 is irrelevant. No one would want to be tortured, but people do get tortured. There is no way to prevent it.
your #2 is irrelevant. You make the assumption about so-called "false positives" when you have no proof it happens. People undergoing torture are reacting, not thinking rationally. If a person were to lie, it would make the future torture worse, so there is no reason to lie, once a person gives in.
your #3 applies to our enemies, not the US. We take care of our enemies: Japan, Germany, South Korea, are some examples.

Think about this for a moment. When hollywood or anyone else portrays torture or it is brought up in conversation America is never thought of as one to fear. Yes we have things we can do to people that are terrible and horrific but it compares minimally to cutting off peoples heads on video and the things Asian cultures have done in the past. Honestly it would better to have seen a man tortured at the hands of our agents then his weapon discharged and thousands of people dying because we didn't.

Any torturer worth any thing knows at what point you will get the truth and what point you will get what you want to hear.

How many people confess to crimes they did not do when only being questioned? How many criminals go to their graves professing innocence.

It is a moot point. Torture is a subjective term and until you have a set definition that does not include discomfort you have nothing.

Personally I see that our enemy brutally butchers those they capture and I don't feel those that we capture deserve better.

1: Thanks for unblocking me. All would give in. As a matter of facts we are taught to cave in earlier so as not to divulge too much info

2: There is SOME truth in this, just like the false positives

3: This is not true. This is what many people think is true, but its simply not.
