I am the same way....I feel like I have tried EVERYTHING. Recently, I started to try and be more aware of nail biting. When I notice that I am biting I immediately sit on my hands. That seems to be working a bit...no pun intended. At least my nails are not so short that they bleed.

Wear gloves as much as possible. Light cotton ones will do - even in bed.
Put a sticking plaster over one nail, let it grow to a point where you would not bite it, then repeat the process on another nail. Eventually you will have a good set of nails - but it will take time.
Or you could always have all your teeth pulled out.

Sit on your hands. It worked for me. I'd been biting my nails since I was 5 and I stopped when I was about 10. just try it!

Whenever I want to quit something I carry a hair bobble, or elastic band around with me on my wrist and whenever I go to bite my nails (or whatever it is you are trying to quit) pull back the elastic band and it should hurt you, so then your mind will associate pain with biting your nails so hopefully you wont do it anymore. Sorry if it doesn't work but it worked for me x

too young to get a manicure? are you sure?
how about getting a friend or parent to paint your nails... put smiley faces or somthing really pretty so if you bite them, you'll wreck the design AND get little chips of nail polish in you mouth... ew!
or maybe your biting you nails because your bored? try keeping yourself occupied.

Hiya, I'm a beauty therapist, and when I was training, one of my lecturers told one of the girl who bit her nails that there are more germs and bacteria under your nail than there is in a toilet bowl, so every time you fancy a wee nibble, just think of that toilet bowl...... works for my nail biting clients!!! Persevere hun, it'll be worth it in the end, Good Luck!!!

All you gotta do if you don't want the nail polish remover is just chew gum or something to take your mind off of it. I used to bite my nails, then i started chewing gum.

ps--maybe this story will stop you....my dad bit his nails and he got an infection...the doctor had to cut his finger with a knife to get the infection out
the way i see it, you trade one habit for another. when ever you bite your nails, chew gum....but don't eat something, you dont want to make over eating a habit....good luck to ya hope i helped

I used to bite my nails really bad, and i mean realy bad...
i used to bite them so far down they would bleed and wouldnt grow back,
but......
spary deoderent on them!...
carry a can round with you and every hour or so give them a quick spary...
not to close up else it will just make your fingers wet lol...
then when you go to bite them as soon as they touch your mouth it feels horrible!!!!!!!
hope this helped :)... it worked for me
