Well I have been a numismatist for almost 48 years now and a coin collector for a longer period. A numismatist is not only a coin collector but a person that studies the coins he collects and does research. I have done well over the years due to knowing more than the dealers do about certain series of coins and not letting them know I do. I don't buy sight unseen coins and stay away from EBay when it comes to coins. I may buy a medal or token of historical interest but that is about it. I never got into the hobby to make money, but to have fun, so I have enjoyed it for a good many years. Make it a fun hobby and you may do better.

I have been collecting State Quarters for a little over 2 years now. It's really fun collecting them, and I just need Utah to finish up this year. Then next year I'll need Alaska and Hawaii and others! I don't make money with this, I just do it for fun.
