No, she's just being an arrogant a*ssette, as usual, by endorsing any presidential candidate. She should stick to tossing off opinions on subjects she is qualified to, like yo-yo weight loss programs, where to find a good live-in cook, pulpy trash self-help books, which celebrity is going into rehab for the fortieth time, and which airheaded actress is balling which dumb jock.
But the depressing thing is not that she routinely oversteps her intellectual qualifications, but that so many people are dumb enough to pay attention to what comes of these excursions, and/or be swayed, politically or any other way, by them.

Good lord, of course not. Clinton's not my top pick, although I wouldn't be upset to see her in office. Feminism is not some monolith where you have to adhere to the orthodoxy or be cast out. This isn't the medieval Church. Especially now with third wave feminism recognizing the different experiences of women of color and poor women and those of different religions, you'll find all kinds of different beliefs within the bounds of feminism. In my case, for instance, I feel that we need a push towards more economic populism, so I'm an Edwards supporter, although Clinton's my second choice. I don't know what's driving Oprah, but her beliefs are just as valid as my own or those of the Clinton supporters.

Of course not!
If a feminist woman had supported Margaret Thatcher based on the fact that Thatcher is a woman she would have had a nasty shock!
I didn't even know that Oprah is a feminist. She should support the best candidate for her political beliefs, but I don't think that it is appropriate that it is public knowledge, I hate it when celebs support a particular candidate. Saying what party you support is OK, but during run up times I think that they should stay out of it.

No, she's not selling out. She knows the man well and they are both idealists. His race and hers are not a factor in her decision. Anyone who thinks it is doesn't watch Oprah and know her character. You can't be on the air every day for decades and keep the audience out there in mainstream American without being a decent, honest person.
Edit to add: If she had supported Hillary how many of these same people rooting on her now would be doing the same thing because she didn't support her race? Probably most of them because some people just love to hate the self made people.

No, not in the slightest. I prefer Obama to Hillary Clinton myself. The POINT of feminism is that one shouldn't discriminate by gender. Oprah is, in fact, embracing this by not supporting Clinton merely because she lacks a Y chromosome.

nicely i do no longer understand why they may be called gay or like a woman. Feminism for sure is against adult adult males and any guy who promotes feminism has betrayed his own gender it is that straightforward. i used to be a feminist supporter. I attended rallies hung leaflets and all of that. yet at a rally one feminist stood up and reported that all and sundry adult adult males have been pigs and rapists which comprise those human beings that have been there to assist. Did the female get pulled of the diploma no she have been given a status ovation. and that i left feminism in the back of and commenced gaining knowledge of it deeper and that i got here upon that they at the instant are not out for equality they're out to make the worldwide provide them each thing they choose. i spotted they did a similar issues they accused adult adult males of. Any guy the helps the destruction and oppression of different adult adult males is a traitor in simple terms that straightforward.

This question presumes things that are simply untrue:
1. That all feminists are females.
2. That women who are feminists are so dumb that the only consideration in their vote will be the person's gender.
No, I don't think she is selling out. I think she is supporting the person she thinks will do the best job.

She's free to support anyone she wants. Howeve, there are also those who feel she is selling out because she is endorsing a black man instead of someone with a different skin color.

no, though i often disagree with oprah's politics i think she is very bright. her support of obama has more to do with his platform than race.
unfortunately i believe many individuals are "selling out" by jumping on the band wagon and not earnestly learning as much as they can about each candidate.

I don't care who she supports. I support Obama myself, and I'm no traitor. I just like his politics more.
