I can have political difference with someone, and at the same time be friends. I really piss both extremes off, since I have beliefs that are on the right and left.

As long as the 'Republicrats" can keep the controversy going, they remain in control of a corrupted political system that has turned into a monopoly. As long as they have spoon-feeders like Al Franken and Rush Limbaugh to brainwash us into believing we're either a 'con' or a 'lib', they know we aren't taking the time to concern ourselves with the stranglehold they have on our electoral process. Thus, voters don't get any real choices of good candidates and the 'Republicrats' remain in control by making it look like there's a change in politicla dogma every few years.
Like Adolph Hitler said: "How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think."

Interesting question, NEO. It's common knowledge that what makes/breaks a friendship is NOT that we might disagree on an issue as we can "agree to disagree" but when you just can't respect another's belief, it causes the separation.
I find it hard that We, as Americans can be so against each other, yet still be ONE NATION. But...........it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round, I guess.
Like this site - United, yet divided. Good Gawd, we are not allowed to use firearms on here !!!

I don't hate people who I disagree with (generally, people who want big government). I wish that they would at least be a little scientific in assessing the effectiveness of their programs, and discontinue the ones that don't get any bang for the taxpayer buck. I also don't like their tendency to legislate sin taxes on legal products. So far, it hasn't cramped my style, but eventually, they'll come for something I use. They are mostly annoying for those reasons, but overall, I don't hate them, and around here, find them amusing.
Thanks for the question.

You are somewhat correct, political philosophy is linked to innate psychological processes.
You shouldn't be blamed for your hard-wiring, but you should be responsible for it. It's certainly not MY responsibility. Why should MY tax money be used to subsidize social institutions that make Conservatives feel all warm and fuzzy? Why should MY tax money pay for abortion police, just so Conservatives have their social stability? If a woman wants to have sex but doesn't want to give birth or take contraceptive pills, it's her business.
I'm a Liberal by default, but why should MY tax money be used to provide someone else with full healthcare? It's in my best interest that you receive vaccinations and aren't left lying in the street if a car runs you over, but your full healthcare should not be my responsibility. My employer subsidizes my healthcare, and rightly so. He is getting the best years of my life.

Yes, we need to divide the world into 2 sides one for cool people and one for douche bags, the cool people would include Athiests and Catholics and Liberals and Buddists, the Douche bag side would have neocons and Musilums and Jews and evangelicals.
