I make sure I feed the birds Christmas Eve so that they have a good supper on Christmas day.
Family Trivia - each person makes 2 questions. One is about themselves and the other is about someone else. Then we do the trivia and the person with the most answers wins a prize. These questions can be about Christmas or not. It's a great way of sharing stories about people and knowing your family. Each year we might ask 5 questions from previous years trivia games. Just to make sure people are paying attention.
Our dogs wear Christmas bandannas
We exchange Christmas ornaments each year
Each winter my husband makes a run for the dogs with tunnels and hills so they don't have to sit in one spot when they go outside. They run and play in the winter playground.
That's it for the unique ones ....but I am hoping to add another one this year.
Another thing I do is after Christmas when everything is on sale. I go to the pet section of Walmart and buy the Christmas dog toys, cat and other animal stuff (they are usually 1/2 price). I save them for the following Christmas and donate them to the Humane Society. The animals in these shelters can be forgotten about at Christmas. If you do this get the more durable toys because it's usually larger dogs in these places.

In Jamaica we have a grand market day on the Sunday before Christmas, there is also Jonkunno which is a small parade with special characters who are said to depict some ghosts of the past who scare children, drummers drumming and singing, and we eat ham, turkey, sweet potatoes, rice and peas with coconut milk, dukanoo, (which is sweet cornmeal dessert wrapped in banana leaves) and we open presents on Christmas day. The tree is usually put up around this time or a creche of Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus.
The next day is Boxing Day where all boxes are gathered and thrown out that day.

Ah, the whole Christmas plans start out like this. Christmas Eve, I will be performing at two places, one at my mom's nursing home she works at, and another at a hospital I think it's for the sick kids, so I can't wait.
My mom is working Christmas eve, which doesn't bug me at all because shes' been doing this for years and if she didn't work Christmas eve, she'd be stuck working Christmas Day. So at least I get her the whole next day
So usually I'll sit around the house maybe call up my friends and wish them a Merry Christmas. Or I'll go and take a nice hot bath and then get in my PJ's, and turn on the TV in my room and watch the Christmas specials on tv, which I absolutely love. I'll sometimes call my mom and tell her Merry Christmas, in case she's running late. When she finally gets home I'll go and hug her and we'll exchange Merry Christmas's.
Then I will leave her be for a couple minutes so she can get out of her uniform, and wash the makeup off her face and just get settled with a pot of coffee and maybe some German or Belgium Christmas cookies, and just plop herself down on the couch. When she's feeling a little non - pooped she and I get to open one, and I mean just one gift on Christmas eve and the rule is we have to choose the gift for that person to open. So on Christmas eve my mom usually gets a blanket, or mug filled with tons of goodies and I will get most likely PJ's, and maybe some lotion or stuff from Bath and Body works.
Once that's over, my mom will tuck me in and I'll say my prayers (even though I'm not overly religious I still pray). And then I'll either read a book, or watch tv if I can't sleep. Usually I'll fall asleep with the tv on.
When I wake up, I usually go to the bathroom go to the kitchen get my Vitamin water, Fuze drinks, or make myself a nice mug of green tea. Then my mom and dad will wakeup and we all wanna get settled and be awake before opening our presents, so my mom will make herself a huge pot of coffee and she'll watch tv, and my dad will be on the computer (unless I'm on it, typing up my story or browsing the internet).
Soon as we're settled we'll open our stockings first most of the time it's filled with like small things and chocolates. And then my dad will open his gifts, and then my mom, and then I open my gifts. After we're done we'll gather the stuff and just mess around with it, and be all happy.
We'll load up into the car and head over to my uncles where we'll open more presents, eat a ton of food, watch Christmas specials and just enjoy time spent as a family and I'll usually play my flute and piccol (this year I hope I can play them my phife). So yup, that's how Christmas is.
I hope yours is as good as mine.
Blondie.

my parents don't really celebrate christmas.
so my friends and I created our own tradition where we would meet up and go around town in christmas hats and just hang out. I think one year we even got really into the spirit and we dress up like santa and his elves.

It's not much, but when I was younger it was my two cousins and me and the first year the oldest put the angel on the tree. Then the middle one and then me being the youngest. We also always have a birthday cake for Jesus.
