That's messed up! My step-mom would do the same to me. It's a wish list, hence the word wish, what a jerk! I don't really have a bad Christmas memory. But I guess two years ago was my worst Christmas I've had. I was living 4 hours away from my dad and I went to stay with him for Christmas. I'm always with my mom for Christmas. I don't get along with my dad's new family. And, I already knew what I was getting which sucked so Christmas was boring for me. I called my mom saying Merry Christmas but she didn't even care it was Christmas. She was so depressed and didn't wanna talk. She's been that way since. It sucks, I hate it because I love Christmas and I go crazy during the holidays.

One of my sons decided to go for a little spin on his bike with a friend and was knocked over by a careless motorist. He was not badly hurt, but one has to make sure, so the friend's father put both boy and bike in his car, drove to our house to pick me up, and then deposited us both in the hospital outpatients' department. We waited and waited, were eventually seen and given the all clear. I had assumed that it would be straightforward getting a cab (so many cab drivers nowadays looking as though they would not be celebrating Christmas), but I was told that there was a four hour wait. There seemed nothing for it but to begin to walk back, as my spouse had consumed too much festive wine to feel safe behind the wheel. What had been a warm enough jacket to get into someone's car proved to be too light to protect me against the biting wind. Everything was closed and there was nowhere at all to take refuge. I felt so cold that when we reached the police station I began to consider if there was anything I could do to get myself into enough trouble to be driven home in a police car! Oh, that long, glacial walk! I have had a particular sympathy for Good King Wenceslas and his page ever since!

My brother, as a baby, threw himself out of his high cane pram with excitement at seeing the house in a whirl on Christmas day and we couldn't find a doctor. He didn't seem to be hurt and wasn't. Just a lot of crying.
When he grew up and had kids, one Christmas his kids were so nasty to me on Christmas day that I never saw them again until my brother's birthday when again they were so nasty that I left after 5 minutes and haven't seen them for 5 years now and never will. Now I don't have that sick feeling leading up to Christmas, knowing I don't have to see them.
I have bad experiences of New Year's Eve where I have made definite plans with boyfriends and then they have decided at the last minute they wanted to watch tv all night instead. They even let me get into my costume before telling me. One New Year's Eve, my boyfriend's kid was being taken out on a church bus trip and the driver didn't show up, so the remaining parents had to have a certain amount of children to take care of. We went to the casino which had only been opened a week and queued for an hour to get in, to be informed children were not allowed there. We didn't think they could go into the actual gambling area but on tv adverts it looked like there was other stuff they could have gone to, but no. We took them to a party of work colleagues of ours and to our embarrassment the children STARTED SMOKING and refused to stop so we took them home. I will never go out with another man who has children. As soon as I got home I got the first aid kit and tied my tubes.

my bf(at the time) asked me to pick out a ring (so I did)....when I opened the box,he had returned the ring and gave me a 'glass blown' ornament instead. He changed his mind about the ring at the last minute....idiot.
