Remember to do all divisions and multiplications before additions and subtractions.

lets start
2 – 3[ - 4 + 6] ÷ (- 2)
2 - 3[ 2 ] ÷ (- 2)
2 - 6 ÷ (- 2)
2 + 3
now that we have finished with all the divisions and multiplications, we can begin to add
2 + 3
5

Hi,

For this problem, we first need to simplify what's present inside of the parentheses. Therefore we get:

2 - 3[2] + -2

Next, carry out the multiplication of -3 x 2 to get:

2 - 6 + -2

To end the problem, we now add the above numbers together. Notice, we have a 2 + -2 which becomes zero [0]. Therefore we get:

FINAL ANSWER: - 6

I hope that helps you out! Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Sincerely,

Andrew

2 – 3[-4 + 6] ÷ (-2)

I'll presume you mean
2 – (3[-4 + 6]/(-2))

Think of it as
2 + (-3)[(-4) + 6]/(-2)

Two ways:

You can apply the distributive property of multiplication over addition a(b+c)=ab+ac to the middle term, and you get
2 + ((-3)(-4) + (-3)(6)) /(-2)

Next, do the multiplication
2 + (12 +(-18) )/(-2)
(a) 2 + (-6)/(-2) And you can take it from here...

OR
You can do the stuff inside the brackets first
-4+6=2
Then multiply
(-3)(2)= -6

(b) And you have 2 + (-6)/(-2)

Again, you can take it from here.

===========

But, if you mean:
(2 – 3[-4 + 6])/(-2)
Then what you have in steps (a) and (b) is
[2 + (-6)]/(-2)

Again, you can distribute or do the stuff in the brackets first...

not clear what you mean by this question

2 – 3[-4 + 6] ÷ (-2)
do parenthesis first
2 – 3[2] ÷ (-2)
then mult or divide next . i choose mult first.
2-6÷ (-2)
then divide
2 + 3

I have absolutely NO concept of numbers. One may call me mathematically illiterate. I do however find it funny how everyone is sure they're getting the correct answer when all the answers are coming out different.
