At some dinner tables in England you have a separate spoon on the top of your plate that is meant for cleaning up those last bits of gravy. Otherwise I use bread.
I can't get the lines out of my head after reading One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich. Something like, The dogs lick their plates but I use the butts of my bread to prove that I am still human. (about a guy in a soviet concentration camp)

Remember when I told you that I jumped up and had to slap myself when I ate something that was soooo good? Well I licked that plate so well that I had my whole face smashed on the plate making sure I got every drop :-) LOL

Nope, it's my dog's job to lick my plate clean and she'd not appreciate me horning in on her territory. In fact, she might report me to the union!

I do, and I tip the chip bag up to my face to get that beautiful salty goodness.
Don't be embarrassed either. People were jealous of your ability to get the enjoyment you sought.

LMAO.....We need to have lunch! I have not done that since I was a kid. Tried to fool my mom into thinking I "washed" my dish while she wasn't looking. She didn't fall for it. I had the sauce on my nose.
