After login to my Window page, I noticed that my PC slowed down. When I clicked on Ctrl-Alt-Del to view the process usage, I found out that IExplorer was turned on by itself and kept running. How could I remove this? Was it due to any virus or trojan? How to avoid this in future?

go to run , type - msconfig , that will bring up the selective start up screen . go to the tab that says start up, scroll through till you find the IE take the check out of the box and you will manually have to start -IE. you will need to restart your PC a menu will pop up saying you are using selective start up, put a check in the box , do not show , and you should be all set.

Check the Microsoft System Configuration Utility and see if IE is set to boot/load with Windows. While in the utility you can check to see if there are any other programs or utilities that are loading at boot up that you don't want to run in the background.

Start>Run type "msconfig" without the quotes, click "Ok" and then click the Startup tab.

I'd suggest scanning your system for viri/trojan infections, it may also be that IE is in your start-up folder, if so simply remove it from the folder.
