For economics, anything by Thomas Sowell is always good.

For business, depends on what you're looking for. Some are comprehensive, like my favorite, Michael J Laurence's Your Money Rules for Financial Freedom. Other good ones that tend to be comprehensive also are the ones by Suze Orman.

For more specific aspects of business, sometimes you want to take different approaches. I like Mary Buffet's The New Buffetology because she discusses how Buffet analyzes a business to see if it's worth his investing in--I think you can learn a lot from that whether or not you want to invest in the stock market.

Ditto books in the "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" series as well--some are about going into real estate investing, others are specifically how to start up a business or such. Not all are written by Kiyosaki, but if it's part of the series, I've found them all good.

I think Harvey Mackay dishes out a lot of common sense advice for people IN business.

However, something doesn't necessarily have to be a "business book" to be useful to a businessman. There was a time when probably the number one "business book" (as in read by those in business) was "The Art of War"--an ancient Chinese classic. It's about strategy.

Frankly, being well acquainted with logic and the basics of science and history are all helpful to a real businessman. Donald Trump's fascinated by history, he says. His books are interesting as well.

There are allot of magazines that will help you understand the basics of finance and business. However, if you would like to have a broader understanding of principles go to your community college bookstore and pick up Micro economics textbook. It will show you the underlying principles that affect things. After reading through that, pick up a Macro text book. I studied finance so Its important to have fundemental knowledge as opposed to just reading magazines.

In terms of personal finance, I found "The Millionaire Next Door" to be a worthwhile read.
