She normally is quite a lazy dog but since we found out about the baby she has become really clingy and will not leave either of us alone especially my girlfreind!

I think so! We have two dogs, and I'm 12 weeks pregnant. In the past several weeks, the female dog has been alot more cuddlier with me than she ever has before. Almost always when I'm sitting on the couch now, she is laying next to me with her head resting on my belly. She never really did that before.

My dog did the same thing... that was one thing that clued us in that I was pregnant. He got very protective and clingy and didn't want strangers getting near me.

Now that I'm at about 6 months he likes to lay with his head on my belly and make this little sound... when he does it the baby kicks and the dog gets super excited... it's too cute.

Our cat also knew... but instead of becoming sweet the cat became even more of a psychopath than usual!

Possibly. My good friends small dog is normally a bundle of energy before I found out I was preggie, he seemed to know. He would lay on my feet and stay there or try to sit in my lap all the time when I would visit. Seemed to be my best friend. Then I found out I was preggie and it all made sense. Animals have a 6th sense about things.

Yes, totally normal, the animals can sense the change in hormones and will also become very protective. Both my cat and my dog won't leave my side and they get very uncomfortable if someone touches my belly

I don't know if there is any scientific proof, but I have heard the same thing with other pregnant women. I think that dogs can switch the hormonal changes that she is going through and possible sense the change in the atmosphere of your house! Congrats!!!!

My cat is the same way. I'm thirteen weeks pregnant, and for the last couple of months my cat, who is normally rather aloof, has taken to sleeping on me every time I sit still for more than a few minutes. It's really bizarre.
