The Epic of Gilgamesh?
Homer's Odyssey
Le Zombi de Grande Perou
Brian Keene's 2005 novel The Rising
1990's "Home Delivery", by Stephen King

I also recommend participating in a Zombie Walk:

The best Zombie films are

Romero's Dead Series
Night of the Living, Dawn, Day, and Land
Night of the Comet (hilarious 80's cult spoof)
28 days/weeks later
My Boyfriend's Back (1990's)
Pet Semetary (Book too)
Return of the Living Dead 3(The best of the rip-offs)
Wes Craven's Serpent and the Rainbow (unique but a BAD movie)
and Nightcrawlers

in case you like Bradbury, The Martian Chronicles is powerful. For George Orwell, Animal Farm is great (politics set in a farmyard, form of odd yet exceedingly solid). H.G. Wells conflict of the Worlds or The Time device additionally in superb condition into the variety. Stephen King's The Stand or under the Dome are exceedingly solid in case you like him.
