why is geometry important to build structure?

To ensure that (1) the structure is has level and has parallel floors, (2)is rigid and can withstand earthquakes and wind sheer, (3) is vertical and does not look like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, (4)meets all architectural specifications for angles, lengths , etc and (5) the structural design is feasible.
