I just ordered my MacBook with a 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB memory, a 120GB hard drive, and a Double-layer SuperDrive. When I bought it, it was way too much money to upgrade to 2GB of RAM, let alone 4GB. ($150, and $850)

It says I could get 2GB of ram for $51, or 4GB of ram for $160.
I don't feel like spending $160 on that, but I will if its worth it. I was just wondering if 2GB is good enough, or should I go with the 4GB?

Try shopping around. You can probably find cheaper RAM on www.newegg.com, but be sure to match all necessary specs. It really depends on your OS. I know with XP, you'll see very little performance difference between 2 and 4 gigs. I would say to go ahead and get. Before you upgrade, be sure that you know how many memory ports your machine has. If it only has 2 ports and 1 port has the 1 gig of stock, you should only buy 1 gig (if you want more memory, you'll have to buy 2 gig sticks).

If you can afford it yes go with it better to have the maximum speed and efficiancy..... RAM makes you computer run faster and more capable to run alot of programs in the background and you will need that...... 4gb should do nicely but if can afford it it is not entirely necciary but if you would like optimal performance go with that. But its your call...

Quick tip on batteries: If you are at home or statonary on a desk or something take out the battery because u can overcharge the cells and kill the lifetime of it. That is the same for all electronics.... And macbooks tend to get very hot so dont worry about that either

2gb of memory is enough for most computer operations. 4gb is for people that do a lot of video encoding.
