Should I be offended?

Question

I found a posting of a question that happened to me. I don't know the person, and they didn't say my name but I think they're talking about me. Should I take it personally or be offended? How would you feel or what would you do?

Thanks to all for answering. You all make great points and I agree. (Its so nice to get honest, to-the-point answers!)

It really depends on the subject matter. Was your friend being rude or facetious, or was she getting advice on how to help? If you think you know who it was, and you really think it was about you. You should ask your friend if it was her, and if it was her, than ask her what was her intention.

I think you're really jumping to conclusions, by assuming that something someone wrote on here is about you. You may not realize this.. but many people often go through very similar situations in life. The details may be just what you went through, but that doesn't mean it is about you. So, no.. don't take it personally, because chances are it has nothing to do with you.

I would imagine, that f you really wanted to.. you could find all sorts of questions on here that sound like something you went through before. That does not mean it's about you. You are really reading too much into the whole thing.. and to be honest, it's really unnecessary worrying on your part.

Speaking from my own expierence.. I've read lots of stuff on here, that sounds just like something I've gone through at one point or another.. But I don't sit around and worry that someone is on here telling all my business to the world, cause they're not. These people don't know anything about me.. and any similarities in what they describe, is strictly coincidental, and nothing more.

Just relax..

LET IT GO. In life, there will be many who criticize. The best advice that anyone can have is to not take anything personally. If you learn this at a young age, you will be spared a lifetime of grief. I wish I had learned this when I was younger. It releases you from so much angst, so your energies can be placed in positive pursuits, rather than focus on yourself, and hurt feelings.

well ive seen qustions like that but listen there are so many people in this thing ur not the only one going through a hard stuation maybe there in the same position u were....but if u really think that its a big deal then check that prson out and keep an eye out for them....like look at there questions more often and check wether it relates to the person that u think it is

It sounds like you are just looking for a reason to feel offended, pick a fight or something. With all the questions and posts here chances that they are talking about you are very slim.

Well if you put yourself out their & made yourself vulnerable to become offended then thats the chance that you took when posting, even on Yahoo Answers theirs always a risk or a chance that someone can find out your idenity, so let it go, its not worth getting upset or offended about.

You are not the center of the universe.. the same thing that has happened to you has happened to someone else. plus who would you take it personal with, the poor person who probably doesn't even know you and had a similar problem?

Honey, just ignore it, if you do not know that they were talking about you, then do not worry about it.

Just ignore it, and go on to the next question, that is what I love about Yahoo Answers, you give your answer and go on to the next, you are always going to have people that do not agree with you, or your comments, but you will never meet them, and they will never meet you, do not take it personally, just give your best answer or question, and if you do not like what they say or what their response is, you always have the "thumbs down" vote!!!!!

well question to ask self is
am i a people pleaser or a GOD pleaser?
IF WE feed onto the negative remarks, sometime..oftentime..possiblity it will spark a flame.
if we don't feed it, it's dies off..due to no fuel.

and being a christian, one..they will could talk about us. either our high standard or our loose standard.

and the devil he truly like us to ASSUMED and get offended when we are wrong...and embarassed ourselves.

devil is a thief of our peace, love and joy.
truth will shine the light
of who we are
lies will eventually be revealed as they are, and the person who sown it..will be discredited as well mark as a liar.

GOD is LOVE..love cover the offense of others. 7 time 70.in one day.
turn to FAITH in GOD to empower you
with HIS GRACE(power to pass through)
without scars or fear or anger/bitterness.

keep a child like FAITH.
you are being TESTED....of the fruit of LOVE of GOD in you.
passing the test is..cover it...bitter not about it.
failing it..is getting upset..want to retailiate..or DEFEND YOURSELF.

JESUS did not defend himself.
others did..but HE did not for self.

DO.."IN GOD WE TRUST" is what you need to say..I pass these cares onto you..and REST /trust in YOU>..to clean this up..defend for me..protect me...ect.

THIS faith action.
give GOD the right to DO what a FATHER DOES...convict..or make your enemy your footstool.

if you FIGHT...with flesh with flesh.
you'll probably lose...for it's a trap.
by the devil..doing. to ruin you..socially and mentally..spirituall..ect.
