i guess if you look at the uncontrollable things in life, they are the things that don't change. to only focus on those things would be like sitting in an empty room, staring at a clock with no batteries, in that, no matter how hard you try, you won't make progress(in this case, pass time) because they are "uncontrollable".

on the other hand, if you focus on other things and keep moving, you will pass the time faster because your brain is focusing on continuously changing activity. basically, the more change or excitement there is, the faster time will go.

I heard that you lose track of time when you find your Darma. Darma is a word that means purpose in life. Which states that everyone has a unique talent and a unique expression of that talent. While in this state of timelessness, all of the problems beyond your control don't matter. It doesn't mean it is not a concern, it just means that you are where you should be. In your most influential state of mind and being as productive as you should be at that moment.

Focusing on uncontrollable things is unproductive unless you have some influence over it.

Darma is an ancient east Indian word. It's deep stuff.
