I only like it in the beginning during the tryouts where they have some horrible singers and freaks. Once they get past that, I stop watching.

No, I don't, and I'll give you several good reasons. For one thing, because shows like American Idol have completely different casts every season there's no stability from season to season. If one cast stinks it doesn't matter because you throw them out and start from scratch next year. I didn't like the season with Fantasia Barrino and Diana DiGarmo but they came right back the next season with Bo Bice and Carrie Underwood. The series didn't 'go bad', the season did.

Thirdly, I don't think it should be canceled because, well, think about it..... What are you going to replace it with? A new sitcom about a disfunctional family with a fat down to earth husband and a gorgeous but snarky wife? Law and Order: Car Theft Crimes? A reality show about a midget who pretends to have a billion dollars in order to play tonsil hockey with ten supermodels and one obese girl only to reveal that he's actually a starving circus performer? Would that really be better than even a subpar season of American Idol?

Finally, I don't think it should be canceled because it's still typically the first and second highest rated show on television. FOX didn't somehow 'do that.' Over 20 million people tune in every week because they want to tune in. Of their own free will. Because they like it. I don't think my friend Mercy should lose her favorite show just because you've decided it should end. People who write these types of posts generally know that they're going to watch the series but expect it to be a waste of their time. That sounds like your impulse control problem, not Mercy's.

Had Adam been got here upon as an artist at each time in the previous American Idol? No! He replaced into only doing theatre...he hadn't made it enormous yet. Now his call is everywhere. He could be greater gifted than the others, yet that is not his fault. that is a singing opposition...Adam is singing his coronary heart out...end being so jealous!

i didn't enjoy last season either. the people who were on the show were so boring, with the exception of blake lewis. i really enjoyed him.
jordin sparks had an ok voice, but was too bubblegum for me.
i really had to force myself to watch all the episodes last season.

i'm going to watch the upcoming season because i know a lot of people who auditioned, including my cousin david.
i have to see if they make the good group of the bad group!

Yes, I think it's time has come and gone. And honestly, I know I don't listen for them, but I rarely hear anyone who won. I did see a Kellie Pickler video last night that was good, but she didn't even win did she? Yeah, enough already.

End? I don't *think it should have started.
Shows like this are a simple way of maximizing profits, face it, 1 hour of so called "entertainment" spewed out for very little cost.
I say: bring back actors, writers, and "real" entertainment.

I think if you don't like it, then don't watch it. I enjoy the show. I hate rap but I don't think it should be gone just cuz I hate it. I just dont listen to it. Its America, we have choices, so get over it already!

well... the begiging is always pretty funny i think, but then i stop watching b/c it gets boring, and usually even if they win american idol, they are not really successful after, except like kelly clarkson i guess...
