You always hear of dolphins helping humans out and i've never heard of one attacking. What makes them any different from sharks?

Dolphins are extremely intelligent and very gentle. They understand us in their own way. I heard about a lady who was swimming with dolphins and they were buzzing around her stomach the whole time. The next week she found out she was pregnant. They knew of a human life being formed before we do. It's something to think about :)

usually. but at certain times of the year they can get moody. if you surprize them, they may get freaked out and slap or bite you. which has killed people in the past. but there are a lot more stories of wild dolphin saving people than harming them. i know about a story where a pod of dolphins circled 3 people aggressively, scaring them quite a bit. they wouldnt allow the people to move from that spot for 20 mins. but the dad who was with his two girls saw (he was the only one with goggles) a large great white shark circling outside the dolphin's circle. after the shark left, the dolphins did too.

there many theories about this. first why do we like dolphins so much? scientifically we are both mammals, both have a higher intelligence level and we live in totally different domains. so on the few actions we see each other (dolphins and humans being each other), there is a spark of interest. one fact the people don't hear about is the dark side of dolphins to each other and they have been known to kill there own kind in competition. most of the time this does not happen but it still does sometimes. but us (humans) not being the same spices as them seems to be a boundary to this aggression. it is the same thing with people do you now hear about murder after murder on the news? another reason I don't watch it much. also look at how similar we are considering that we live in two different parts of the world. we both have language, live in society, both have competition, and some would be funny and say we both enjoy sex.

spiritually you could say thy ere is a magical bond between some animals (humans included). dogs, dolphins, some elephants, monkeys, SOME birds, wolves, and rare cases of different cats and even lizards. but these are the most rare of cases.

this is my input along with information from diffrent sites and other yahoo answers questions & answers.I'll add a site to look at for more reading.

Well they are pretty intelligent and gregarious, like us. But as Douglas Adams put it; goodbye and thanks for all the fish.
