I have been, to visit someone (true). I asked to stay longer but they said no because I would make everyone sane and put them out of business.. LOL
Seriously though... It depends on what kind of psych ward and in what state as to whether a person gets the right treatment, many of the wards are nothing but a farce, many people there shouldn't be there because there are other areas that can help them. I do know of some wards that are fun, they aren't meant to be and some don't even help the people ...actually they make things worse for them.

I wasn't, but my 12 year old step son was. He was on ritalin and needed to be put on a mild anti-depressant, so his child counselor recommended a 4 day stay in the psych ward to regulate his meds and get him some more counseling. (His biological Mother had just come back after 11 years, but still didn't want to see him.) Don't ever do something like that!!! His counselor had never been married or had children. She did not like my husband because he had waist length hair. When we went to visit my step son, she had put him in preotective custody until they could contact his biological Mother. The whole thing drug out for over a year with my step son eventually going to a foster home after the Mother admitted she did not want him. My husband was stubborn and would not agree to anything, so that is why he went to foster care. Even the CASA worker said we should get him back, but the psych ward and the courts didn't want to admit they had screwed up. Don't ever willing go to a psych ward!!!!

I'm in the business so I'm on these wards all the time. You're right, it's not fun, but necessary for some people to get themselves together.

It takes a on a similar time as to get used to yet they're there that can assist you you. you will in all probability have somebody to speak to often happening for a on a similar time as to be sure how yoru getting on and because your stepping into with an eating illness they'll in all probability exhibit screen what you consume and make beneficial your no longer hiding foodstuff or being sick etc reckoning on the difficulty. If the centers is obtainable they might have a nutrionist to describe healthful eating with you too, in particular its to get you to a element the place you're actually not in possibility an dto save you risk-free and to be supportive. i improve into in well being facility for suicidal strikes and melancholy, I even have Borderline character illness. i improve into in for type of two and a nil.5 months yet that improve into in particular my very own doing as I stored self harming and in many techniques did no longer choose to leave the risk-free environment. No, but someone close to me has. Then it was taboo to see a psychiatrist and that's all she needed--some perspective. The whole episode helped change our family for the better forever.
