I hope to be awake and outside this Thursday night to watch the Geminid Meteor Shower. Does anyone else like to watch the 'falling stars'?

"What could be the best meteor display of the year will reach its peak on the night of Dec.13-14."

"The Geminids perform excellently in any year, but British meteor astronomer, Alastair McBeath, has categorized 2007 as a "great year."

When I was a little one, Grandfather would set cots out in the yard and we would all sleep out and watch the show! We did this every year for quite a long time. Such an amazing Man, my Grandfather!

My wife and I try to see 2 or 3 of the schedule meteor showers every year. And we have seen some truly great ones. But the Geminids are out of the question this year. Some other important matters have taken place, medical.
But we hope you and others will enjoy yourselfs. Lets hope the weather cooperates.

I watched one time years ago. It is nice you brought this subject to our attention. Watching the Meteor Shower is an interesting activity during the holiday season. Make sure to bundle up, drink hot chocolate, you do not want to get sick. Now in the Eastern part of the U.S. is very cold at night.
Good Luck.

I do! I live in the Canadian wilderness so the issue of ambient light is non existent here, just spectacular displays in the truest sense of the word. Very keen on this, we can make out all sorts of star groupings and see shooting stars every cloudless night, outstanding...in our field, hee hee, a little pun; sorry!

I do. My family did that last month for that one meteor shower and we didn't get to sleep until like one in the morning. And we had church the next day!
