I certainly do. In the past few years, I made really good money selling items on eBay. I sell Fitz and Floyd and Lenox China products. Now, many eBay sellers have listings for my same products for less than what I pay wholesale.
By the time you pay the eBay listing and closing fees plus the Paypal fees it is really hard to make a profit.
For now, I am stuck with several thousand dollars of inventory just sitting in storage. I am trying to figure out a way to at least get back the money I have invested. Boo hoo!

I have always been succesful on Ebay - I now have a business on there which started from me selling my own handbags, clothes etc - I now import to the UK and sell on Ebay. However, I would agree that the fees are getting higher and therefore, you need to be getting a decent price for goods to make it worth while. I shall be putting my own prices up soon for that very reason. I also think that Ebay is a bit of luck of the draw - you can put something on there one day and get nothing and the same thing a week later and get a great price. That's the nature of Ebay I guess.

I've been with ebay since 2004. But i've stopped using it for lot of reasons:
1. My ebay account has been hijacked
2. Too many scammers mostly from Nigeria
3. The customer services dept dont give you help when you need it.
4. The post & packaging is a ripoff i've seen the same item in the high street shop for same price as ebay but without the extortionate p+p. How is that a bargin?
5. Why should you pay to advertise your item?
I use ebid, its free to advertise your item http//:www.ebid.com

I feel that ebay became just the opposite of its purpose. Before, ebay meant you could find items for the lowest prices but now we find that ebay is a source for items which are "out of stock" and limited so the prices are sometimes doubled..
For sellers i don't know as i tried selling a couple of times but every time i try that some one hits the buy button and never pays.. And fees are high for listings
My honest opinion,

personally, i have to disagree on that. I buy alsorts on there. Its the first place i look for things. Even if im wanting new.
I also use it for work purposes. My hubby and i own a car dealership, so we sell particualar cars on there and always get good results.
Maybe 2008 will be better for you. Ebay will always be there when you need it.
oh, from personal experience, never put a reserve on what you're selling. Most people will stay away from those ads. People think you're being greedy, or whats they point of bidding if you want a certain amount for it.why not just put a buy it now on!
Ta ta for now.x

EBay are only interested in making money.
It is now full of scammers and their new rules protect them.
Sellers and buyers are loosing faith and eBay don't really care as their mass profits are made in the USA.
Few bargains, over priced tat and extortionate fees from them and paypoo have driven a lot of people away.

Hi....I've been on Ebay for 7 years now ( buying and selling ). I agree with you 100%. It seems harder to sell then it use to be, and i get a lot more people that win my auctions and never pay. On the buying end, i've bought things and never received them. I hardly ever sell or buy anymore, unless it's a seller that i've dealt with in the past and can trust. I guess it's like everything else in the world, the bad people ruin it for the good people :-(

I've sold bits and bobs too on ebay, I think it maybe geared so that you have to use their cross promotional and advertising options (£).
What I find annoying, is the amount of scammers on there, I've sold 2 phones, and have had winning bidders from America in the last seconds, only to get my listing deleted due to it being a fraudulent bidder.
When selling, always list your gear on the reduce lsitings days!
