If you mean language, it can help, but is not a catch all.

Culture pays a big part, along with government and politics. Keep in mind, it is not the people who usually start conflicts, but rather governments. I liken that to adults having temper tantrums.

The one language that is universally used throughout the world is English. That is why places like China have 300 million people learning it. English is used internationally in business and government. Its been that way for 300 years. Before that it was French.

I teach English in China and I have had students here ask why English is the international language and not Chinese. The reason, if one wants to learn how to read Chinese they need to learn at the very least 4,000 characters. A first grade student here learns 500 their first year. We have to learn 26 for a lifetime. The second reason, Chinese is an exact language. Tones have to be almost perfect to understand it. Plus the grammar rules are very important. Whereas in English, mistakes can be made in both tone and grammar and it is still understood.

I fail to understand why people, who realize how important China is economically to the world, insist we must learn Chinese. It really is the other way around, for China to become even stronger economically, they must learn English. In order for the world to survive, the world must learn English. That is not arrogance, it is just common sense.

Peace

Jim

Very much! Depending on what it is and if you have proof and back up. If someone famous said there was no Santa and had evidence to prove it, wouldn't that change the world. What would become of all the red and white outfits not to mention the beards? And all the elves? How could they get employment? What use would an elf be working as a postman? I am sure there are other matters to be taken into consideration but I don't have the time right now!
