Awesome-o is pretty much spot on. I'm not sure if I agree that the consoles are only being sold in bundles because shops weren't selling enough games; I'm almost certain there's some profiteering involved. If people are desperate to get a Wii, they'll be willing to buy a bundle which includes some below-par games but which is more expensive. At least that's less like daylight robbery than the £399.99 that Gamestation wanted!
The shortages and price increases are most likely being driven by eBay and the media. As soon as the media started reporting that there were shortages, people began buying them simply to sell on eBay. And as we get closer to Christmas, people are going to get more desperate and start paying more ridiculous prices.
I firmly recommend the site that Awesome-o provided, I managed to get a £179.99 Wii from there last week, although he made a typo in the address - the site that you should check is obviously http://www.wii-consoles.co.uk

it isnt a rip off. shops are only selling them as bundles with the games because people werent buying enough games.
check out this website http://www.wii-consoles.co.uk
it has stock levels of all online shops and updates every hour.
check there every day and you should find somewhere selling the console on its own.

Nintendo have a lot to answer for, there will be a lot of disappointed kiddies on Christmas day opening their alternative presents. It is downright cruelty.
