At three weeks old? If you think he's in pain, he needs to see his doctor!!!

DO NOT give him any over the counter cold medicine.

As for the "vomiting" - he may have reflux. It's quite common in infants. Take him to his doctor - if reflux is what it is, they'll give him medication - he'll grow out of the reflux, usually by his first birthday.

For the "cold" - all you can do is run a cool-mist vaporizer in whatever room he's in. (Warm humidifiers can burn.) If he doesn't feed well, he needs to see his doctor ASAP.

Try some cooled boiled water with a little salt in it and put a few drops in baby's nose. You can also buy this at the chemist but is the same as you can make at home. I did this with all 5 of mine and it worked, Put about 2 drops in each nostril before a feed. When breastfeeding baby will drink more than it needs, so the milk baby brings up is just the surplus. Your breasts are still working out just how much milk to produce, so just keep feeding on demand and things will settle down, eventually your breasts will produce only the right ammount of milk that baby needs. I breast fed all mine and 2 of those were twins. Baby will stretch often, nothing to worry about, baby won't be suffering from any aches, but if you are worried ask your Dr. or midwife at the clinic. Hope this helps.

Don't know about the cold. But as for the vomiting sounds like he has reflux or needs to burp. Do you burp while feeding, like half way though. Try this, might help. My daughter had acid reflux and would projectile vomit after EVERY feed without fail until she was 6 months old. Got very messy and emotional. Se a doctor so they can diagnose if it's something serious or not. Good luck

i'd first get a humidifier and placed it interior the room the place he sleeps and run it around the clock. verify you maintain the water crammed. you additionally can take the component you suck the snot out of his nostril and get rid of the mucous from his mouth. do no longer bypass too a strategies returned interior the throat nevertheless. babies can not get that out the way we do. it is going to clean in time. There are some chilly meds a toddler can take, it fairly is why they lead them to. warning: If he does no longer get extra effective or is respiration will become much extra problematical bypass to the well-being facility. you are able to watch his chest. If his chest "sucks" in and creates a "dip" then he's having undertaking respiration and he needs to bypass to the ER now. additionally, it truly is RSV season. a cold can actually turn risky to a youthful new child. Watch him heavily.

COLD - Get some saline nose drops. If his nose gets too stuffed up then you just put a few drops in there and this should break it up and let him breath better. Just keep an eye on him. Babies breath out of their nose but other then that he should be fine.

Vomitting - He might actually just be spitting up but it might be a projectile spit-up. I thought my daughter was vomiting but she wasn't. Turns out she would eat too much sometimes and then her stomache couldn't handle it. Babies stomaches do not have the ability to expand like ours do. So instead of teh stomache expanding it just comes back up if they eat too much.

Stretching - He is probably starting to get used to being out-of-the-womb. My daughter starting at 2 weeks hated to be swaddled and just wanted to be spead out all over the place. So we staopped swadling her tightly and let her move her arms and legs all she wnted to. It's just a normal part of development. They say that at 4 weeks your suppose to stop swaddling anyway so they can start moving their arms on their own.

Hope this helps.

You need to call his baby doctor. All newborns need one from birth. Give the doctor a call; you don't want your baby to die. Don't neglect this. It is not good for him to have this much wrong so early in life.
