My most important accomplishment for this year is my chance to finance a child to go to college. Now is her 2nd Semester who turned to be one of the Dean's Lists. But then, she's so helpless for their family's home will be demolished next year. How I wish I could extend more help before the demolition starts this end of the month. Oh, a part of her challenge in life.
GOD BLESS THE CHILD.

Actually having a passport is extremely important. You cannot expect to have meaningful dialog when you have not experienced other cultures and understand little things like "yes" does not always mean yes. How do you expect someone to act as president and perform duties such as host foreign diplomats, broker peace treaties, help governments like Iraq? When you don't even have a grasp of different cultures sensitivities you won't be very successful. Seriously folks, I know lots of people who I respect and enjoy their company. This does not mean that they should be leader of the free world. This position should be reserved for someone of exceptional abilities. Obama & McCain are both extremely qualified. They have proven in a variety of ways that they have the intellect, experience, and drive to do the job. Someone who has not traveled abroad (not even on vacation!), and has such little intellectual curiosity that they have not 'thought about it [Iraq war] much" shouldn't be let near the white house. This is a recipe for disaster in areas from trade to out right war.

Organizing a great clan reunion to celebrate my mother's 75th birthday.

That event created a momentum such that our clan has since been holding reunions to celebrate somebody's birthday, somebody's passing the board to become a doctor, etc. In these gatherings, they never fail to recognize that I had set the ball rolling.

I think making the clan more caring, more involved, and more concerned is my major accomplishment this year.

First, I got married. Then, after many rejections by private companies, I finally got hired again in our local government which helped me a lot for the expenses of my father.

Second, I got over the depression I felt after my husband had to go back home.

Third, I finally talked to my sister again.

The bonding of my family is still very strong. We know and understand very well our place and limitation in the society. We are still surviving (the right word to describe our situation) and with minimum sickness and hassles, we cannot ask for more.

It hurts to think about it and it will probably hurt for some time to come.

I had a little dog named Peanut who since February of 2005 had spinal problems. I know he hurt but I didn't know how much. His appetite and all of his functions were still good but he just had problems standing and walking. Everybody kept saying that it was torture to let him go on like that but I couldn't bear to be without him.

This year I lost my house to foreclosure. I knew Peanut could not survive without me and that it would be unfair to make him homeless like I am now. I had him put to sleep the day I left my house. I miss him so much.

I'd like to believe that each day I get to accomplish at least one thing important and knowing that is good enough for me.

And maybe I'd know more after Wednesday. Hope to see you then.
