I had asked this question in the Physics section also & i got some interesting answers - I would like to share some -

A user Psychopiet has a valid point , he wrote - "We would have seen people from the future already if they had such a machine."
So those who believe about the invention of Time Machine What do they
have to say about this ?

And Captain Bunkum makes the same point too..

Thanks for your answers :)

I've suddenly in a completely random way decided that you are from the future. This proves that it's possible, but I may never prove it. Until then, my time machine will keep moving forward into the future, which arguably proves that we already had one.

We are already capable of traveling through time, but it's a slow process that takes 1 second per every second we would like to travel into the future. Time also shifts across great distances whenever you increase or decrease the distance with acceleration and velocity. For example, on a planet 15 billion light years from Earth, walking away from Earth for a few minutes will advance Earth's time by hundreds or thousands of years.
I don't believe it's possible to invent a machine that will allow us to speed up or slow down time as we currently know it, simply because the amount of energy it would require would be phenomenal, and it would possibly create an issue with mass being increased to near-infinity.
Wormholes have been suggested as a possible method of time travel, but a problem with that is the potential for a type of feedback, like the kind you get from a microphone. Another problem is, say you can control what year you arrive in the future -- the Earth, solar system, and even the Galaxy has since moved. Where will you end up?

I think it is possible, because according to the theory of relativity, when you are at very high speeds, the time seems to be slower.. I don't know much about it, but if this is it, there must be a speed where the time stops and that must be the speed of light, and at higher speeds than that, time may move in the opposite direction.. But then, speeds higher than that are not possible.. It's quite confusing.. Anyway, if you have heard of pair production, i.e. an electron and positron are formed when gamma radiations pass close to nucleus, if we can convert yourself into energy, and then back to matter, then this is possible.. This is cooool!!!

When pressed to the wall with the simple question, "What is time?" most cannot answer: Read this link, then get this guy's book, "The End of Time".

My opinion is this. If we do not know what time is, how can we invent a machine to travel through it? Or if time does not exist, what would we be travelling through?

Time machine books and movies are still fun to watch and to think about. But I do not think we will ever see it.

I say 90% definitely, 10% not possible.
I would try to not go too much in detail on this subject:

Okay here's how the thing was theorized in the labs.
1>on a completely dark room(no light absolutely) was kept on one corner, a photosensitive plate(gets marked where light hits it) and on the other a highly sophisticated machine which has the capacity to shoot only one light particle at a period of time.
2>they ran the machine, then they shut it immediately(completely as the machine runs only on electricity). on the computer it showed one particle, moments later another, hours later lots more, scientists were astounded. They decided to run it again.
3> the particle came before it was decided to shoot. again they were astounded.

It was the idea of this that revolutionized Quantum Mechanics.
(quantum mechanics is so strange, that even noble prize winners who worked on it, admitted they didn't understand it themselves)

An of course time machine is based on quantum mechanics.

On the story above explains about multiple universes interacting together.
1>There is not one universe but multiple called multiverse.
2>universes split all the time, some universes will have an alternate outcome of events (india won in our universe, other's pakistan won, draw lots of possible outcomes)
3>other universe entities are not identical you's in it but other may or may not be completely like you.
4>Not all universes are at a same time. some may be still prehistoric, some way ahead. now hear is where the concept of time traveling comes. We just switch universe.

Time traveling will be possible with the usage of atomic computers using quantum mechanics.(atomic computers are powerful despite their size, because of their multiple electronic states than supercomputer that just run on binary 1s and 0s)

So these atoms interact with any atom in the whole multiverse(because they have only one great ancestor at the big bang, and they continually split , so therefore can interact)

They will carry your entire data from head to toe, from each cell, from each DNA.(DNA are made of molecules which are mad of atoms).

So they destroy you in your current universe (all atoms) and they contact the other universe to remake you there. But then due to the strange quantum mechanics. you appear instantaneously(or before you were destroyed at the other universe. reason similar universes at different time frame).
Or if you decide to go back you might come back to your universe to watch yourself get destroyed and wondering what the hell is happening. Yep all because of Quantum Mechanics

We are already seeing and answering there question , for example , americans aer from the past tense , coz they are 9 1/2 hrs behind me , and there are people who aer well ahead of me , so why do we need a time machine ?
but iam sure time machine is not possible , coz it is called past coz they are dead and future coz they do not exist !lol.

have a great day

Well you tossed in the equation of it having to be invented in the future right. What if we/? solved this countless eons ago. What if for some its biz as usuall? Think about though, you interact 1 thing diff. just one word and history all mankind turns out different, even if you mean well what if that word was the destruction of humanity. HMMMM. Wanna take that chance? Lots of folks in this universe as you know it. Anyone of all of us out there that knows about time will die to keep it secret. Its not just the machine, its the heart and soul the pure essence of life. Its striving for full circle. You have all time within you, and all time before you all within your embrace. ENJOY

hello ms. bolti bandh kya? you are asking for personal opinions here and i myself like many people in this world keep an opinion about time as something which is self defined, that is, which is not universal.
i dont have a traditional opinion about time as something with which every process goes on. i believe time is just a human defined concept of something which elapses with the going on of universal processes. that is, time is not something defined universally which carries out processes but it is something defined due to the processes that take place.
you might want to read my last paragraph again if you think each sentence means the same.
as every process that happens in this universe is irreversible(perhaps you know why, if you dont, email me), i believe time too is irreversible or nothing can be done to change its speed.
therefore, according to me, the creation of a time machine is not possible and im kinda sure about that, sorry if i broke your heart. dont worry, everyone in the world had fantasies about going back or forward in time, me too.

imagine you have invented a time machine, but it can travel only a limited distance into the past (say ten years).

you go back in time ten years, build your machine there, now you can go back in time twenty years (from your original start point).

do it again, and again, and again.

if a time machine were ever to be invented, it would already have been invented.

do you know of one?

the time of the producers of the movies with time machine concept seems to be wonderful. They materialise it well and enjoy their life.

i do not know whether it is possible or not, but if you realise your presence in each and every speck of the time you will definitely have a heavenly future.
