There are not weak, it's just that most Americans are not paying attention yet, and a lot of people in various media are die-hard Democrats who are pushing their candidates, and skewering Republicans. There are four candidates who have demonstrated a great dealing of competence actually running a government, unlike people like Hillary Clinton, whose claim of competence and experience is all talk and no substance. The four candidates who have records of competence are Republicans Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, and Rudy Giuliani, and Democrat Bill Richardson.

I just don't think they are playing hardball yet.
Rudi doesn't have a Presidential demeanor - tho he does have the personality - but he's too liberal.
Romney needs to toss the Grecian Formula and rent a personality.
Fred Thompson has it all but isn't stepping up to the plate.
I think the GOP seems weak because they are strict on themselves and too nice to the opposition. The DEM's don't mind slinging mud at anyone and seem to accept any and all behaviors including murder.

It seems that way because they do.
The Republican party won't even acknowledge its own frontrunner, Ron Paul .
I don't like Ron Paul but I find it humerous that his own party won't take him seriously despite the fact he has more popular support than any other Republican candidate.

Because they (and the Democrats) do. Another lesser of two evils, I'm afraid.

If you think our team is bad, you should see the other team. They don't know which way to swing and don't know which way to run with the ball.
