I don't think people said those words since th 50's. My Grandpa said when he was a teenager and they saw a pretty girl, they would say , " You look campy." Or, they would yell at her, "Camp and carry on girl!" He said the boys would stand on the street corner and watch the women pull their dressup just enough to get on the street car. To see their ankles because women wore their dresses to the ground back then. They thought it was thrilling to see their ankles, LOL!
