Yes, what the right wants is to reduce the government to the private militia of the haves. Underfund till the brink of collapse any government agency, then point to the inevitable poor service as a sign you were right and funding should be cut even more or even propose privatization.

They want to make people believe and try to sell the idea everything less than pure jungle capitalism or social Darwinism is somehow socialism. That's simply not correct and the top knows it too though the conservative masses might be really afraid. It's the fifties all over again

The"documentary" is pointing out the USA shortsightedness not having a national health program for all of it's citizens like most of the countries in this world have.
Instead of watching it with political eyes watch it with the eyes of a human being that knows something isn't right.

Yes, absolutely. Just look here on yahoo answers for example. Any mention of us investing in our own communities are met with irrational claims of "socialism".

Did you also note the fact that fatass Michael Moore is thin on factual information and heavy on lies in this opinion piece? I didn't think so. His films are less documentary and more opinion than any of the other trash Hollywood puts out. Anywhere Communism is tried it fails. China is discovering this now. Socialism was installed by LBJ in the 60s and remains due to the influence of liberalism on policy, but facts are that this alone is responsible for most of the debt our nation owes to itself. If the country would get rid of it's social programs and put all but the mentally ill to work, donations and charity would solve the rest of the problem. That, and Tort Reform, but the lawyers won't stand for that happening.

Communism, no. Socialism, yes.

But you need to understand that we already have many socialist programs in the US: medic-aid, medi-care, social security, welfare, even school lunch programs.

Socialism is not a bad thing. For that matter, neither is communism. What makes them bad is when they are paired with a fascist government.
