I guess because the person asking puts it up for vote. I hate when I answer a question that ends up going to voting. I'd rather the asker pick one.

On your edit button where you can add details you can also put it to a vote early. I have known people to do that because they do not feel they can pick the best answer. Personally, I am too much of a control freak to let anyone else pick my best answer.

i've never understood that. it's not like the person forgot to pick a best answer and the question was put there, because there is a specific time before Y!A will do that and it's not hours later.

It's either that there aren't enough answers for the questions or it's the way Yahoo! Answers are. You just have to deal with it.

i have that problem also. i called president bush about it and he said that yahoo was acting like the democrats....want to get it over with quickly, but has no reason why.
