If he is there when their pic comes up, they will get him. It also depends on the 49ers record since the Pats are using what was their first round pick.

You are assuming that McFadden will become Pro.

Even if he does it, I don't think the Dolphins will let him go. The fish need everything so they will take the best player available.

The Pats drafted Maroney 2 years ago and he's been solid. He's just not an every down RB. With another RB in the 3rd or 4th round to complement him, the Pats will be awesome on the ground.

Who knows if next season they go for LT, Clinton Portis, Brian Westbrook or any other RB hungry for a ring...like they did with Corey Dillon 4 years ago.

I think Mcfadden is great, but too tall for a tailback in the NFL, he will only last a few years before he is broken down. The backs that last in the NFL are usually between 5'7" and 5'10". Payton, Sanders, Smith, Faulk, Peterson, Tomlinson, tall backs usually wear down quick in the NFL, I would take Laurinitus, I think he would fit with the Pats mentality.

I think they'll try to trade the pick and go for a defensive player. Remember Sammy Morris will be back next year.

Likely choices:

Laurinitis or Connor (PSU) or Highsmith (LSU)
CB

a cornerback (will Samuel be back?)

A twist could be to take Glenn Dorsey if available. Belichick loves to draft D linemen 1st round. Even though they are full up right now. Dorsey is a special player.

Do the Patriots have a necessity? They will probably trade down in the first round and pick up a 1st and third for next year in the process.

Giving the Fact that Laurence Maroney hasnt played like the Pats thought he would .
They could possibly take DMac if he enters the Draft if they decide to pass on DMac then i see them trading down to address their aging Linebacker Core
