(x-4)^2= -27/3

(x-4)^2= -9

(x-4)= 3i

x=3i+4

x^2 +4x =-5

x^2 +4x +5=0

d=16-20

d=-4


x=(-4+-2i)/2

x=-2+-i

x=-2+i or x=-2-i

1) 3 ( x - 4 ) ^ 2 = - 27
-------( x - 4 ) ^ 2 = - 27 : 3
------- ( x - 4 ) ^2 = - 9 (unacceptable)( square root of everything has to be positive)
==> x has no answer.

your homework

1) distibute the numbers out - then add 27 to both sides - solve

2) add 5 to both sides - solve
