your dad if you find out that he is not your biological father?
How would you go about that? Do you need legal documents?

He's only 14 years older than me. He was young, and was told I was his child by my mother.

If he is not your biological father there should no problem if he and your mom are divorced. This has been brought up before the supreme court...There is no prohibition of a step father marrying a step daughter. The only prohibitions is a blood related daughter or an adopted daughter.
if not then there is always the possibility of both you and your mom being lovers with him...
You should be able to marry him though with no problems if he is not married to your mom..good luck and age is no factor here either...I really hope all turns out well for you..
there will be those unhappy with what I have said but I speak from knowledge and wisdom of these matters.

Is he on the Birth Certificate as being the father? If he is I'm sure that there might have to be legal documents presented. If not then there would be no legal repercussions.
And how does one fall in love with the person they thought all this time was their dad? I'm not judging I'm just curious.

No its not a good idea, and probably not legal, if you were raised as his daughter. And I would have to question what type of man would want to marry a girl he had believed was his daughter for years (Check out the disapproval of Woody Allen who got together with his wife's adopted daughter - yuck!"). The word pedophile springs to mind. Far better to find yourself another man who wouldn't have this sort of baggage. And just think, you would be sleeping with a man, who your mother had slept with first. Double Yuck!!!!

Legal or not legal, the guy is taking advantage of you, just like Woody Allan did with his step daughter. It is right out creepy, you will have to face this reaction for the rest of your life, don't do it.

Talk about a can of worms. If his name is on your birth certificate it would be a real mess. If he has adopted you another mess. If no in either case a little bit less of a mess, but then societally it is a really big mess.

ask your mom, with whom she slept with.
many men do not know they are not biological father of thier so called children; still raising them and paying for them.

honestly that's weird but hey it's your life........you will if he's on your birth certificate and you may need DNA proof that hes not your father
