We read with festive spirit that the two child neglectors and MAIN SUSPECTS could be quizzed by Police on Christmas Day.

Perhaps its only fair dues, the two Tapas wine guzzlers Kate and Gerry have wasted huge amounts of Police time over the last 7 months, perhaps the Police want to pay back the pleasure as a present on Christmas Day ?

So where are you going to find a policeman to question them on Christmas Day when there is no emergency and they have the rest of the year to do so? Use your common sense. Newspapers will say what is necessary to sell their newspaper, and alarmist stories sell better than bland comments. Whenever you read something like "the sentence is 15 years behind bars", you need to think for yourself what is NOT said - i.e. that the maximum sentence might be 15 years, but only in the worst-case scenario and that it could well be unlikely.
I had always thought that under English Law, people were innocent until proven guilty and that we should give people the benefit of the doubt. Keep an open mind.

If they were not guilty then their worst punishment for leaving their children will be the loss of their daughter and the turmoil in their lives. They don't need official punishment to show them the error of their ways.

We 17 pdr and now we have you. Pains in the a... if you ask me.
Who takes the Daily Star seriously. Who in their right minds would go and interview anyone on Christmas Day, unless they had to. They won't because this has been going on for months. Now the star has come up with this piece of codswallup just to feed the needy................ Like you!!

LOL!! I bet you were rubbing your hands with glee thinking the McCann's would have a horrible Christmas.!!

I read the article and could not stop laughing at those Spanish so-called detectives, the Metodo-3. The article says:

"The McCanns remain confident the private investigation firm they have hired – Metodo 3 – will find their daughter. (...)
Metodo 3 director Francisco Marco said yesterday: “I think it’s going very well. I am unable to say too much except that everything is very positive.” -- WHAT?! How 'positive' ?! He is "...unable to say too much except that everything is very positive.” because he hasn't a clue what lead to follow next !! I would rename that detective firm from "Metodo-3" to "Cluess-3"
Perhps the'positive' he refers to is to conclude that there was nothing in northern Morroco after all, a place they said three weeks ago they were SURE little Madeleine was being kept.
-------------
WENDY B - "They don't need official punishment to show them the error of their ways." -- so when would they need it ? Only if they were working class ?! Child neglect is a criminal offence....

Lol @ James Dean

I would say that was very unlikely Mork. The Daily Star, like some people on here, think the McCann case is a soap opera.
As usual they are getting fact and fiction confused

I have read this story from this most "reliable" newspaper and nowhere does it say that they will or even may, be interviewed on Christmas day. All it says is over the Christmas period. Slight difference but a case of getting your facts right first.

Wonder if the policeman will wear a white beard and a red suit.

That's a credible news source if I ever did see one,
the Daily Star is usually full of t1ts much like the people who read it and take notice of what's printed!

They'll probably be down the pub - will the twins be able to reach the door knob to let them in?
