This is a great question. Lets compare each position-
PG- Billups vs Rondo
Winner- Billups- he is the all around pg, passes and can shoot
Of course he developed under coach Brown, under Pitino he didn't do much so maybe that makes a difference but the Billups of today is much better than Rondo.
SG- Johnson vs. Allen
Winner- Allen is a 7 time all star, they match up pretty evenly but I took in account the all star appearences.
SF- Pierce vs. Pierce
Winner Pierce
PF- Walker vs. Garnett-
Winner- Garnett- all around great player. Walker gets too amored with the 3 and never plays defense.
C- Jefferson vs. Perkins-
Winner- Jefferson- look at his numbers, he is monster on the offensive boards and he plays hard. I don't if he would have developed with the other surrounding players but his athletism and mental toughness are great assetts.
3 to 3, so pretty much evenly matched. I have to wonder if they kept the original, these players would developed nicely and could have been a dynesty. The team of now is really great but they are one injury away from diaster.
But one cannot deny what is going on in Boston now, 13-2 and they have pretty much controlled all of the games so I have to go with team 2 but this does poise a great question!!!

The present Celtic team is much better than the team you mentioned in the "what if". The present team is more balanced and plays as a team. There is no conflict int he position for the present team.. The details:
- "What if" team has 3 SF in Johnson and Pierce and Walker. The present team is one each in the position.
- The present team has definitely more in defensive rebounding. - Garnett and Perkins and Pierce. Defensive blocking is also a plus factor inthe present team -- Garnett and Perkins.

The present day Celtics, the unselfishness of KG makes the difference. A. Jefferson and Antoine Walker are a wash (neither one could guard KG) so that means a double team, other than Chauncey no one on that team deserves a double down.

i do no longer understand what the Celtics are doing on the SG place. they have Avery Bradley, Courtney Lee, and Jason Terry. i'm not sure the form you unfold those minutes around. yet, to respond to you question, no he shouldn't. He has performed great with the aid of fact the 6th guy and that i do no longer understand why you will exchange that. he will definitively be there on the tip of the interest for grab purposes. yet he will possibly be subbed out for risk-free practices so they might get Bradley in. Lee will initiate till Bradley get's returned. as quickly as he does, he will slowly get extra minutes and he could be the full time commencing SG.

The team they have now is better because Garnett and Allen are better than any of the players on the other team.

they just got garnett... unless he does outrageosly terrible this year. don't count on them givin him up. present celtics team is much bettr. ray allen- one of the best three shooters in the game. Paul Pierce. good but can't say much about him. Kevin Garnett. Best PF in the NBA if anything.. i would think they would give up pierce before Garnett...

Present team is so much better. In your team, there are no talented big men, only semi-talented guards. The real team has distributed talent.
