What is Americas problem with him? Saw a documentary about him yesterday by John Pillger...where he was interviewed...and the chap seemed a truly decent man, who has created some of the finest social policies anywhere...

Fascism is always dangerous and the Chavez government is one of the few fascist governments in the New World since WWII. The parallels to Nazi Germany are alarming with the populism generated by social programs aimed at laborers, nationalization of major industries with the aim of using them as a tool of the government, the hate speeches, official racism, treaty attempts to integrate area economies, and government control of the media. While he will never be more then a pain on the butt to the US, Americans just have problems when fascism or its close relative communism raises its ugly head and threatens to harm economies in Central and South America hurting both the US economy and lowering the standard of living of their peoples. The US understands that the way to a peaceful world is for all peoples to be uplifted by a free capitalist market.

Several months ago he took over the last privately owned T.V. station for speaking out against his communist government. They were hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans that took to the streets in protest. There is no freedom of speech. The government stores he has created have constant food shortages because of the government refusing to pay the farmers for their investment in growing the crops. Even his ex-wife came out on KFI and ABC radio last week and stated that he must not be allowed to continue his march toward total communist. He is destroying Venezuela by suspending their Constitution and taking freedom from the citizens.

Americans hate him because they're told by the government and media that he's a bad dictator. It's the same with Ahmadinejad. If they repeat enough times that Iran wants to wipe Israel off the map, it becomes true in their pitiful little pointy heads.

American Sheeple who buy into the reich-wing fascist fantasy believe that Chavez is evil because he does not bow to the will of multinational corporations the way that all American politicians do.
