Well I have to hold my hands up to that, my daughter thinks I'm mad. But at the time it seems logical to me.

Perhaps ownership of a rolling pin will inspire a foray into the wonderful world of baking. As a recent baking novice I can thoroughly recommend it... why not try mince pies... you'll need to find a bargain priced 12 hole pie tin first though!

Here's the recipe I used and they were yummy: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/mincepies_73207.shtml

Lol yes it was silly. Still I suppose you could bash a burglar over the head with it! I dont buy things in case I need them I keep things I already have. Just in case those jeans will fit me again! Old boxes may come in handy etc etc

Rolling Pins can be used for more than just baking. Making crushed cracker crumbs, cereal topping (corn flakes), etc.

i always buy something if its really cheap, even if i don't need it at that time! i started my Christmas shopping last year after Christmas, on the clearance racks!!! but my rolling pin is not cheap it is a pampered chef, and it runs about $16....i spare no expense with the stuff use to prepare my families fabulous meals!

I don't think that was daft.they look good along with the rest of the kitchen stuf, plus you supposed to wait behind the door with it and whack hubby on the head with it,when he gets in late.I don't buy anything, just because it is cheap. After relocating for 4 times this year I finally learn my lesson, and I am now a minimalist fanatic !

Yes it is rather daft...but why dont you bake...i love baking to make something from scratch into something naughty and delicious...

I tend to buy what i need as i would prefer to get my kiddies things that they want rather than useless junk....

Ha! ha! a rolling pin can be useful even if you don`t bake. When i met my wife she was using hers to hammer nails in etc so my first present to her was a hammer, she found it amusing.....
