I don't think its as bad as every makes it out to be or maybe i've just had a better experience with mine.....give it that i've had to send it in once......I had it for right at a year (just under, actually)
But anyways was a first generation 360, it messed up I sent it in to microsoft got it back 3 weeks later and now going on 3 years around about without any screw ups with it....well i take that back...ever so often the disc tray will stick and you have to push the eject button twice for it to open...but as far as game play it works great.

My xbox 360 broke final week. yet ive had it for 26 months now. I recommend they don't final perpetually. Theres some xbox's you may get. First theres the Arcade version. This version does not have a perplexing force yet a memory card. so which you cant extremely obtain interest content cloth, or demos and so forth. there around one hundred sixty with gta 4. Then theres the top rate. This one has 20gb perplexing force, comes with headset and instantaneous controller and you are going to be able to get it for around one hundred eighty-two hundred with gta 4. then theres the Elite. that is by potential of a few distance the perfect one. It has a 120GB perplexing force so which you would be able to basicly save something on it. It has an enhanced fan which keeps the console cool and this could definetly not harm down for at lest 4 years, if ever. they incorporate Black instantaneous controller, black headset, Ethernet cables, and the console is black. i could say get a elite, there around 260 with gta 4. If not then get the top rate. i does not pass with the arcade. there not so solid. solid success.

If you have an older model 360, then the answer is "maybe." What you may be referring to is the dreaded "Red Ring of Death," which affects about 20% of older systems. Microsoft has fixed the problem, and most RRoD units are off the market. If you have a 360 that RRoD's, you just have to send thesystem back to microsoft, and they'll send you a replacement, free of charge. Hope this helps, now go enjoy that 360.

of course it doesn't (laughs out loudly) you can't time when a unit breaks down-it either works or it doesn't. if you buy one it might run for years or it might break down tommorow.

No. If they did, they would not be highly sought after.
