My first wife I married for love. She was very head strong and in her frustration, left me and demanded a divorce. I could not talk her out of it so after a year, I gave her what she wanted. We never stopped loving each other as was evident every time we spoke to each other, but she refused to work things out. I finally remarried about 4 years later and in 2002, I attended her funeral and cremation. It was a difficult thing to experience and I still think of her and ponder. I don't think people fall out of love because what we were in the beginning was real and meaningful. It has little to do with what we became to each other later. I do believe that other emotions and reasons can make marriage a ruin.

yes, most often we do marry for love. However, love at different stages means different things. If your love for one another doesn't grow along with time and needs, then it will end in divorce.

I thought so at this time.
Now with the benefit of hindsight and maturity, I realize that I married her out of fear of being alone.
Good luck.

I thought it was love, but I later relaised it was the "idea of love" rather than truely being in love.
