I wish I understood exactly how you came up with that conclusion. American citizens are not twiddling their thumbs in the corner totally oblivious to their surroundings or that of the rest of the world.

Not to mention you can't base the everyday citizens beliefs or understandings on what politicians and elite have to say. If you were more specific maybe I could address it better.

Because of programming. That's like asking why if the U.S. is majority white, Why doesn't it feel white rule to be right. The U.S. is like 80 percent Christian but how many stores have "Holiday" sales rather than "Christmas" sales?
I personally understand these problems you speak of but bet anything what I see and you see are different problems.

I am Norwegian and while I do not agree with the White House's foreign politics, I don't see why the U.S. citizens should understand less about the world's problem than any other nation. You will have to explain, please.
