All family coming to mine, so we will be making mince pies, I love doing them on Christmas eve, then we all settle down to watch a Christmas film, which probably took the whole of making the pies to decide which one...lol...then it's warm mince pie with a great big dolop of cream and my LARGE Brandy, then off to bed to try and sleep but there is always one of the kiddies can't sleep with exitement of santa coming...so good old granny (me) bas to read yet another tale of Christmas till they finally drop off....then it's the big day....I love it x

Christmas Eve for me really has become the highlight of Christmas. We start our evening with telephone calls to our friends abroad, Germany, Belgium and Canada. By now we are really entering the spirit of Christmas. About 7.30pm and friends and neighbours all arrive to enjoy good food and drink. Plenty of chat, jokes and a really nice atmosphere. We are blessed with our neighbours, fine people; good friends. We usually have carols playing quietly in the background and the usual tree and other decorations.
Mince pie's are there in abundance with all the other drinks and food but pressie's must wait until about eleven in the morning. I sincerely hope your Christmas is as pleasant or better.

same every year wake the kids up at 06:00 get them to open there presents, they then choose one to play with in the car on the 210 mile trip to my parents house, have dinner, open more presents, chill out, until parents hit the sack, then drive home through the night, then boxing day its the in-laws turn, but they live a lot more local fortunately, another Christmas dinner, home about 09:00pm as we are all knackered, back to work next day for me, rest of the family get to play and enjoy there presents at last,
so roughly 600 miles of driving over the 2 days very little sleep 2 massive turkey dinners 2 Christmas puddings, god knows how many mince pies, or handfuls of nuts and quality street chocolates, but not a drop of alcohol, glad to get back to work its easier

Open presents, put another log on the fire, snuggle up, listen to the Mannheim Steamrollers, enjoy a late night snack with eggnog and do a little reminiscing of days gone by.

"HOME ALONE" Our family, will, for the first Christmas Eve stay at home and begin to build their own traditions.

Merry Christmas to everyone.

Sometimes go to the midnight communion service at my local church so will not be back until 1am. I will fall into bed and wake up at about 7am. Then if there is a present or two I will wait until after breakfast. Have a happy and blessed Christmas.

We will wake up early, open the presents and have dinner. Nothing special, just spend time with family.
