Instead of having to choose amongst the candidates in the party that we are reglisted with? After all, not every registered Democrat or Republican always favors their own party's candidate every time.

It would, but I think it would give us more power than the parties--which is good.

Primaries are closed to prevent sabotage and double voting. I can tell you right now, if I could vote in the democratic primaries, I'd vote for Clinton because I know that her nomination would hand the white house to the GOP. And then I'd vote for McCain for the republican primaries and clean house. Thank the powers that be that I can't do this.

No. A Democrat, for example, would probably vote for the Republican least likely to win and vice versa.

Primaries determine the party representatives. Thus, there can be no double voting as it will conflict with party interests.

No, that would kind of defeat the point of the primaries.
