Every elected official must answer to the voter. If they think otherwise then run them out of the country.

This question perplexes me.
From what I have seen, none of the politicians think they have to answer to the American people.
Most politicians gain popular support through the donations of big companies or lobbyists. They think that money gives them power to manipulate the people.
Ultimately, what the people want becomes secondary to what draws in the money to influence the people into thinking they want to re-elect me so I can get big contributions in order to help the people that voted me into office so I can benefit my rich contributors, and get my sons jobs as lobbyists, and continue being a Representative of the people.
I'm just trying to imagine what Harry Reid thinks.

Vote for the candidate who is sincere in serving the people not for personal and party interests.
