It sounds to me like your girlfriend will not go away with you. Families are very hard to understand. There is a love hate relationship that goes on constantly. While you see it as her family doesn't appreciate her she sees as her family needs her. Relationships take a lot of work. And a lot of Compromise. Instead of being hard on her try to see it from her eyes. then you can find something that will work for the two of you. Maybe a day trip or something like that. She will love you even more if you give a little on this one.

It is disappointing when people give up on their dreams but sometimes people's priorities change as they get older or they lose the passion they once had for something. For example, I really loved art when I was a young person. I loved to draw and spend hours doing it. I thought it would be the thing I would spend the rest of my life doing. However, as I got older, I found that I became less interested and it became more and more of an effort to force myself to draw something. I think it had to do with my circumstances changing more than anything else. When I was passionate about drawing, I was lonely, picked on in school, and didn't have many friends. I didn't have much else to do with my time. When I got older, I started having more outside interests to occupy my time. I have a family, a job, and other responsibilities. As a result, I no longer have the patience to devote much of my time to doing one thing.

Yes i do, and like me also i'm not following my dreams..YET! but i'm starting and getting close. I guess, some people are in situations where maybe it's just not the right time for them. Sometimes the timing is just off, and maybe later on they pursue it. Some people, don't belive in such a thing as following thier dreams, but i think that's rubbish because they're selling themselves short and being lazy, just flowing along with life, instead of them direct it how they would like it to be. Some just need a nudging, encouraging....others who already know what they want and in a postion to do so are already doing it, and that makes me so happy! If only more people would follow their dreams, they'd feel more in control of their lives, instead at the mercy of life.... just imagine what would happen!

I WANTED TO GO TO COLLEGE....BE A TEACHER, BUT I ALSO WANTED TO BE A RACE CAR DRIVER, WOULD HAVE HAD TO MOVE TO THE CAROLINAS FOR THAT ONE.....
I STAYED CLOSE TO HOME TO HELP MY FATHER IN A FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS....I WORKED THERE FOR 15 YEARS...MY DAD PASSED AWAY ALMOST 3 YEARS AGO.....MY WIFE AND I MADE A DEAL WITH MY MOTHER TO BUY THE PLACE FROM HER.....(HIS WILL WAS BEING DRAWN UP WHEN HE DIED...I WOULD HAVE BEEN 1/2 OWNER, BUT HE DIED BEFORE HE COULD SIGN IT)....AFTER MAKING PAYMENTS TO HER FOR A YEAR AND A HALF...$2,000 PER MONTH......THE REST OF MY FAMILY TALKED HER INTO SELLING THE PROPERTY TO SOMEONE ELSE....THEY TOLD HER SHE WOULD MAKE MORE MONEY....
SHE SOLD IT FOR LESS THAN I WAS PAYING HER, AND FOR LESS THAN SHE OFFERED IT TO ME FOR....I LEFT WITH NOTHING...I HAD A WIFE AND 2 KIDS WITHOUT A JOB AND NO REFFERENCES TO GIVE WHEN I LOOKED FOR A NEW JOB......NO DEGREES TO PROVE I CAN DO THE JOB......I NO LONGER TALK TO ANY OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS....BUT I WOULDNT TRADE ANY OF IT FOR ANYTHING........I GOT TO SPEND QUALITY YEARS WITH MY DAD...I LEARNED ALOT.....AND HAVE MORE LIFE EXPERIENCES THAN MOST PEOPLE TWICE MY AGE.......
YOU HAVE TO STAY WHERE YOUR HEART IS...AND IF HE OR SHE REALLY WANTS TO BE WITH YOU...THEN THEY WILL BE WITH YOU WHERE YOU WANT TO BE....
