Just go out and play, that's just me and I'm a rebel. Do what you want, it's your life and your dreams. Just sit with them and say I WANT TO PLAY, nothing wrong with the sport...or tell them that when you're 18, you'll just join the Army lol. It took me a while to get my mom the idea that I am joining the Armed forces, but here I am, in the Army, and in Korea, talking to you, and now my parents are proud of what I do, and that's serving my country. Now, if you really want to, just try out, get the coach to come to your house, and tell them how good you are, if you get grounded, really sorry, but this is YOU future, go for it kid, and never give up. I like what the other guy said above me, it builds character, friendship, and mental stability. You become smart playing football, it involves strategy so you have to think about what you're doing, and makes you ready to make quick decisions, and if you're really good, you get scholarships for school, and go to college, and have a good career ahead of you, if they want an education, they should let you play. Football brings an education for college.

Explain that being on a football teams builds character, will improve your grades, builds everlasting friendships, is a supervised activity that will keep you out of trouble, teaches sportsmanship and how to win with dignity and lose with grace.Football is a team sport that requires mental and physical discipline, motivation, builds confidence and self esteem.

Do not make promise about better grades, keeping your room clean or doing your chores. Convince them what you will get out of football outweighs the risk of injury. Also argue that there is are risks everyday, especially when unsupervised and bored.

You should remember that you will only get out of football what you put into it.
