One-on-One? Dwight Howard would win for sure. He may not have much of a jumpshot, but hey who cares, he's a dominant low-block scorer and could take Garnett all day in the post. Plus he's about 10 years younger and between the two of them I think Howard is by far the more athletic of the two.

As it is right now, I think Garnett would win on a good one-on-one. He just has more skill and experience so far as to outdo Howard's power and speed advantage. Garnett is just a better player, maybe not necessarily more effective in a team game, but a 1 vs 1, true skill is paramount. I also imagine he would pick Howard's pockets so bad.
Give it a few years, and even Garnett admits that Howard has the potential to be even better. Today my vote goes to Garnett though.

Depends on what kind of one-on-one game it is...Is it one of those Nike Battleground-type games where there are no fouls? If so, than Dwight Howard wins. That's the only way Howard wins, as his only consistent scoring would come from muscling KG all the way under the basket.

Any other type of game that includes basic rules of basketball, and KG wins hands down. Defensively, yah, KG gives up 10-15 pounds to Howard, but KG plays better D, is quicker, and could beat Howard to spots on the low blocks. Offensively, KG has a thousand more moves than Howard and is consistent from 20 feet.

Shaq would destroy Howard in his prime. He also Have better stats than Dwight Howard . Shaq once average 29.7 points and 13.6 rebounds and 3 blocks per a game in 1999 to 2000 season. sorry but not even close .

Garnett is very versatile and has a much better range that Howard. but i don't see KG preventing Howard from dunking on him all night. i'd say its a split-decision. both can score on each other and render the other's defense useless

Honestly. Both would win. It would be a close game but surely neither would dominate or "win". They would score on eachother and they would both play good D on eachother. They would split a one on one four game series.
