Use a good grade motor oil. Castrol is best because it has superior thermal and viscosity protection. 10w 30 should be fine. A good oil additive would not hurt. The best one to use would be STP oil treatment, and continue its use with each oil change. Over time it will 'bake" into the metal and provide a coating on all moving parts. It will not gum up your engine, and it will keep the engine clean.

The grade of oil specified in your owners manual. Buy a brand name, they're all good: Castrol, Mobil, Pennzoil, etc.
