I just learned this from a makeup guide: If your concealer or foundation looks ashy, then it's too light. If it looks yellow, it's too dark.

You should get a purple primer, a product used before foundation, to counteract your yellow undertones of the skin.

try laura marcier, she has beautiful matchings for yellow undertones. Macy's, Nordstroms, and other department stores carry this brand.

I would try out the Prescriptives line of makeup. They will even mix a custom color foundation for you.
